One of the most important pieces of equipment for farmers in agriculture is the tractor. From ploughing, a tractor is required for numerous tasks. But farmers still have to bear the cost of purchasing it. They are frightened if you wish to invest millions of rupees on a tractor. They have the support of the centre. The national government is putting into effect a programme that would allow farmers to purchase tractors for half price. Pradhan Mantri Tractor Yojana is this.
PM Tractor Yojana: What is it?
- The PM Tractor Yojana programme is being implemented by the federal government with the goal of offering farmers low-cost access to agricultural equipment.
- Farmers that participate in this programme can purchase tractors for 50% less (subsidised).
- By covering half of the cost, the centre makes it possible for them to purchase a tractor.
- The nodal agency for this plan will be the corresponding states.

Documents Required:
- Farmers applying for PM tractor scheme must submit these documents.
- Aadhaar card should be valid.
- PAN Card/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport (any of these),
- Adangal documents related to the farm,
- Bank account details,
- Income certificate,
- Latest passport size photograph.
How to apply online?
- On the PM Kisan website run by the Central Government, https://pmkisan.gov.in/, applications can be submitted online.
- A first Login ID must be made for this.
- The application window will open after logging in.
- Farmers should call a helpline listed on the PM Kisan website if they have any questions.
