Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) has issued the notification for Admission in to B.Ed. Special Education Entrance Test and the University invites the online applications from the eligible candidates for admission into B.Ed. through Entrance Test. B.Ed. SE-ODL Programme is being offered through distance mode by Dr. BRAOU, Hyderabad. It aims to develop professionals for special education within a broad perception of education in the twenty first century. The programme is intended to train the professionals to enable them to imbibe knowledge, understanding, attitude and skill to impart education effectively to the Children with Special Needs, areas of specializations offered by Dr.BRAOU viz., Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impairment (HI) and Intellectual Disability (ID).
Following are Objectives of the Programme :
The B.Ed.SE-ODL Programme of Dr. BRAOU aims to enable the Trainee Teacher to achieve the following objectives.
1. To develop a broad perspective of the role of specially trained professional as an agent of change in the prevailing and emerging Indian Society in the ensuring age of IT revolution and globalisation.
2. To develop confidence among the learners about their potentialities, abilities and usefulness to save the society with a sense of freedom, self respect and dignity.
3. To develop professional competencies among the learners to educate the different disabled group.
4. To understand various methods and approaches of organising learning experiences of disabled group of learners in disability area for inclusive/integrated/special education set up.
5. To understand and develop the ability to manage special schools.
6. To develop competencies to organise various co-curricular and extracurricular activities, especially for differently abled children
Programme : B.Ed. (SE) (Recognised by RCI)
Duration of course : 2 1/2 years (5 Smemesters)
Medium : English and Telugu Medium.
B.Ed.(SE) Programme is offered in three Specializations. Viz.
1). Visual Impairment(VI)
2). Hearing Impairment(HI)
3). Intellectual Disability (ID)
The candidate has to choose any one Specialization.
Candidate can shift their Area of Specialization i.e. VI/HI/ID at the time of Admission as per their interest and availability of the seats in left over vacancies as per merit after counselling
Eligibility :
Candidates with at least 50% of marks either in the Bachelors Degree (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.C.A./B.Sc. (Home Science) BBM or in the Masters degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities(relevant subject of pedagogy) are eligible. B.E.B.Tech, with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 50% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission into the programme. However the candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/PWD should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination. However, weightage will be given to the candidates fulfilling any one of the following conditions.
A). Parent of a child with disability, possessing Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
B). Person with Disability possessing Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
C). Possession of any RCI approved Diploma/Degree.
Tuition Fee: The Tuition fee is Rs. 30,000/- for the entire programme of Two and half years (2½ Years) i.e. Five Semesters. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad at the time of admission Examination fee has to be paid as per the norms of the University.
Registration Fee:
Candidate should pay Rs. 635/- through TS/AP Online OR Pay Rs. 600/- Through Debit/Credit Card.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:
Candidates have to register at www.braouonline.in only and pay the fee of Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only) by Debit/Credit card through university portal OR pay an amount of Rs. 635/- (Rupees Six Hundred and Thirty Five only) at any TS /AP Online Franchise Centre and obtain the receipt. Candidate has to choose below given examination centre as per their choice to appear for the Entrance test. They are advised to download the hall ticket two days before the date of Entrance Test from the university website www.braou.ac.in

4. Integrated Caste Certificate (taken after April, 2015)
5. Medical Board Certificate (for PH candidates/ Parent with Child disability issued by Competent
Authority)
6. Transfer Certificate of last studied
7. Migration Certificate for other than Dr. BRAOU Students
8. RCI approved Diploma/Degree Completion/Pass Certificate (if applicable)
9. Intermediate / 10+2 certificate
10. Study Certificates (IX to Degree) or Residence Certificate
