ఎందుకంటే ఆ మందు తయారీ కోసం "పరిశోధనలు మరియూ క్షేత్ర స్థాయి పరీక్షల (Clinical Trials)" నిమిత్తం మాకు చాలా డబ్బు ఖర్చైందని సదరు కంపెనీ వాదిస్తుంది.. కాబట్టి ఓ 20 సంవత్సరాల పాటు ఆ మందుపై దానిని తయారు చేసిన కంపెనీకి పేటెంట్ హక్కులు కల్పించి, పెట్టుబడి సొమ్మును రాబట్టుకోడానికి, ఆ మందును మొట్టమొదట తయారు చేసిన కంపెనీకి అవకాశం ప్రభుత్వం కల్పిస్తుంది.

నొప్పి నివారణకు వాడే డైక్లో ఫెనాక్ సోడియం ఎస్ఆర్ బ్రాండెడ్ (వోవిరాన్)10 మందుల ధర 51.91. కానీ ఇదే ఔషధం 10 మందుల జనరిక్ ధర జనఔషధి స్టోర్ లో Rs. 3.35 మాత్రమే. 100 ఎంఎల్ కాఫ్ సిరప్ బ్రాండెడ్ వి అయితే 33 రూపాయలు పైనే. జనరిక్ దగ్గు మందు జనఔషధి స్టోర్ లో 13 రూపాయలకే లభిస్తుంది. జ్వరం తగ్గడానికి వాడే ప్యారాసిటమాల్ 500 మి గ్రా. 10 మాత్రల ధర బ్రాండెడ్ అయితే 13 రూపాయలు. జనరిక్ అయితే 2.45రూపాయలే.
