Important Suggestions and Precautions for Implementing Home Care of People Not Requiring Hospitalization for Corona Covid-19
Governemnt has released the Precautions and Guidelines to treat Corona Patients at Home. Corona patients who have with mild symptoms they need not to admit in Hospitals, they can take treatment at their home only by following some important Advices and Precautions for Covid-19.
If you are caring for someone with COVID-19 at home or in a non-healthcare setting, follow this advice to protect yourself and others. Learn what to do when someone has symptoms of COVID-19. or when someone has been diagnosed with the virus. This information also should be followed when caring for people who have tested positive but are not showing symptoms.
Older adults and people of any age with serious underlying medical conditions are at higher risk for developing more severe illness from COVID-19. People at higher risk of severe illness should call their doctor as soon as symptoms start.
Following are the Basic Symptoms of Covid-19
- Shortness of breath or difficult in breathing
- Fever or Chills
- Dry Cough
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Loss of taste or smell
- Congestion or runny nose
- Muscle or body aches
Providing care at home for a person sick with COVID-19? Or caring for yourself at home? Understand when emergency care is needed and what you can do to prevent the spread of infection.
If you need to be in the same room with the person who is ill and he or she isn't able to wear a face mask, wear a face mask. Stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) away from the ill person. Don't touch or handle your mask while you are using it. If your mask gets wet or dirty, replace it with a clean, dry mask. Throw away the used mask and wash your hands.
Basic Needs to Provide support and help
- Help the person who is sick follow their doctor’s instructions for care and medicine.
- For most people, symptoms last a few days, and people usually feel better after a week.
- See if over-the-counter medicines for fever help the person feel better.
- Make sure the person who is sick drinks a lot of fluids and rests.
- Help them with grocery shopping, filling prescriptions, and getting other items they may need. Consider having the items delivered through a delivery service, if possible.
- Take care of their pet(s), and limit contact between the person who is sick and their pet(s) when possible.
This includes patients evaluated in an outpatient setting who do not require hospitalization (i.e., patients who are medically stable and can receive care at home) or patients who are discharged home following a hospitalization with confirmed COVID-19 infection.
Precautions and Guidance to Implement during Home Care
The patient and other household members are capable of adhering to precautions recommended as part of home care or isolation. A caregiver may wear a cloth face covering when caring for a person who is sick, however the protective effects (how well the cloth face covering protects healthy people from breathing in the virus) are unknown. Note: During the COVID-19 pandemic, medical grade facemasks are reserved for healthcare workers and some first responders. A cloth face covering may need to be improvised using a scarf or bandana.
