APTWREIS Gurukulam Common Entrance Test for Admission into 6th Class for Ekalavya Model Residential Schools for the Year 2025-26
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India, formed the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) to sustain Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across the country. NESTS and MoTA have approved (28) EMRSs in Andhra Pradesh. All operate under the APTWREI Society (Gurukulam).
Admission to EMRS is based on a selection test. Admission to class VI will be based solely on the results of an entrance exam known as the Eklavya Model Residential Schools Selection Test. Candidates who want to study at EMRSs must appear and pass the EMRSST exam.
6వ తరగతిలో ప్రవేశం కోరుకొనే బాల బాలికలు 2023-24 విద్యా సంవత్సరంలో 5వ తరగతి ఏదైనా ప్రభుత్వ లేదా ప్రభుత్వ గుర్తింపు పొందిన స్కూలులో చదివి ఉండాలి లేదా విద్యా హక్కు చట్టం 2009. నందు సెక్షన్ 4 ప్రకారం విద్యార్థి ఇంటివద్దనే 5వ తరగతి చదివిన వారు కూడా అర్హులు. ఐతే విద్యార్ధి యొక్క తల్లిదండ్రులు / సంరక్షకుడు డిక్లరేషన్ ఇవ్వవలసి ఉంటుంది. తెలుగు మీడియం లో చదివిన విద్యార్థులు కూడా వ్రాత పరీక్షకు అర్హులు.
The parent's annual income cannot exceed Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh only)for admission to any residential school.
Age Limit:
The minimum and maximum age limit (as on 31 st March of the year in which admission is sought) for admission in Eklavya Model Residential Schools in various classes is given below: (Child born on 1 st April should also be considered.)
Minimum age is : 10 years
Maximum age is : 13 years
The maximum age limit can be modified by two years in case of differently abled children by the State/UT EMRS Societies, on a case-by-case basis, after informing NESTS.
Class Strength and Competent Authorities:
A functional EMRS will have two sections in class VI, with a total sanctioned strength of 60 pupils (30 per section). A fully working EMRS cannot have a total sanctioned strength of more than 480 students
Boys and girls will have an equal number of seats. However, EMRSs that are only boys or girls must make a seamless gradual transition to co-educational schools beginning with class VI this academic year, taking into account the local circumstances.
The EMRSST, which is administered offline, may last two hours and consist of 100 objective type questions divided into three portions for a total of 100 points. The examination can be conducted in English, Telugu, or multilingual.
Each candidate will receive a single test booklet that includes all three portions. There will be no syllabus for EMRSST.
The EMRSST Question Paper will be based on competencies set for Class V students by NCERT/SCERT/ CBSE.
Additional time of 30 minutes will be allocated for "Divyang students" (differently abled pupils).

APTWREIS Gurukulam Common Entrance Test for Admission into 6th Class for (28) Ekalavya Model Residential Schools for the Year 2021-22
Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (APTWREIS) issued APSWREIS Gurukulam Common Entrance Test (CET) 2021-22 Notification and invites online applications through www.aptwreis.in from eligible ST candidates for admission into 6th class for (28) Ekalavya Model Residential Schools for the year 2021-22.
Applications are invited from Boys & Girls for admissions into 6th Class in English Medium with integrated coaching for the Academic Year 2021-22 in CBSE pattern in the following institutions functioning under Gurukulam.
The Gurukulam, APTWREI Society, Amaravati has been running (19) Ekalavya Model Residential Schools and MoTA has sanctioned (09) more EMR Schools for the Academic 2021-22 for ST Students to provide a necessary academic environment and inputs and also providing specialized coaching to meritorious ST students to enable them to pursue higher studies. EMRS have been one of the flagship interventions of Ministry of Tribal affairs to provide quality middle and high level education to Schedule tribe students in remote areas on par with Navodaya Vidyalayas and will have special facilities for preserving local art and culture besides providing training in sports and skill development.
The main objective of EMRS is to enable ST Students to have access to best opportunities in education on par with non ST population. This would be achieved by providing comprehensive physical, mental and socially relevant development of all students enrolled in every EMRS.
The selections will be made on merit basis through Entrance Test conducted by Gurukulam. The selected students will get all benefits extended by Gurukulam such as free boarding, lodging, dresses, notebooks & text books, bedding material, medical care and examination fee etc.
Eligibility for Entrance:
- The students who belong to that particular district are eligible to apply for admission into EMR Schools of the same district.
- All the students (Boys & Girls) who are studying 5th class in the Academic year 2020-21 in TW Residential Schools, Ashram Schools, Govt. Schools and other Govt. and Private Recognized schools are eligible to write the entrance test for admission into 6th Class.
- Students studying in Telugu / English Medium are eligible to appear for the Entrance Test.
- Parental Income should not exceed Rs1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) per annum. (Need not produce income certificate in case of white ration card holders as per GO.MS No: 229 Dated 23-06-2017)
- Selected candidates have to produce necessary certificates like, Caste, Income, Ration card SSID No, the Aadhar card. Marks Memo, Study, Record sheet / T.C; Physical fitness certificates, 06 Passport size photos, etc., at the time of admissions.
Selection Process:
• Lottery shall take place at one convenient Govt. building in the district as decided by the PO/ JC for all the schools of the district. Such place shall be notified & widely publicized.
• Selection of students shall be on the basis of random picking by way of drawl of lots.
• The lottery process shall be done in a transparent manner in the presence of all the members of the committee.
• The students so selected shall be allotted to individual schools according to the choice of the student.
Prepare Caste wise list of selected students through first come first allotment based on the lottery.
• The final selection list got to be signed by Chairman & Members of the Committee.
• The minutes of the entire process of selection through lottery should be noted in a register and got to be signed by the committee.
• After completion of the lottery, the selected candidates shall be informed over phone and through call letters for admissions.

Submission of Application Form: All the eligible students shall submit the filled applications through online i.e., aptwgurukulam.ap.gov.in or approach the nearby Gurukulam institutions with all details to fill the application and handover it to the Principal. The Principals in turn submit the application
through online.
