భారత సరిహద్దుల పరిరక్షణలో త్రివిధ దళాల పాత్ర ఎంతో కీలకం. ఆ మూడింటిలో ఆర్మీకి మరింత ప్రత్యేకత ఉంది. కొండల్లో మరీ ముఖ్యంగా సమున్నత హిమ పర్వతాలపై ఆర్మీ అందించే సేవలు ఇతోధికం. ప్రస్తుతం ఇంజనీరింగ్‌ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్లకు ఆర్మీ స్వాగతం పలుకుతోంది. ఆర్మీలో షార్ట్‌ సర్వీస్‌ కమిషన్‌ 57TH SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION (TECH) MEN (OCT 2021) AND 28TH SHORT SERVICE COMMISION (TECH) WOMEN COURSE (OCT 2021) నోటిఫికేషన్‌ వెలువడింది.
టెక్నికల్‌ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్‌ కోర్స్‌ (టిజిసి) ద్వారా ఇంజనీరింగ్‌ అభ్యర్థులకు ఆర్మీలో కెరీర్‌ ప్రారంభించే అవకాశాన్ని కల్పిస్తారు. అవివాహిత పురుషులు, మహిళలు మాత్రమే ఇందుకు అర్హులు. ఎంపికైన వారికి 2020 ఏప్రిల్‌ నుంచి చెన్నైలోని ఆఫీసర్స్‌ ట్రైనింగ్‌ అకాడమీలో శిక్షణ ప్రారంభమవుతుంది. గుర్తింపు పొందిన యూనివర్సిటీ నుంచి నిర్దేశించిన ఇంజనీరింగ్‌ బ్రాంచ్‌ల్లో ఉత్తీర్ణులు అర్హులు. బీఈ/బీటెక్‌ చివరి సంవత్సరం విద్యార్థులు కూడా దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవచ్చు. శిక్షణకు ముందు వీరు తమ డిగ్రీని సమర్పించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. వయస్సు 20-27 సంవత్సరాల మధ్య ఉండాలి. నిర్దేశిత శారీరక ప్రమాణాలు తప్పనిసరి. ఎత్తుకు తగ్గ బరువు, చక్కని కంటి చూపు ఉండాలి.

ఎంపిక ప్రకియ రెండు అంచెలుగా ఉంటుంది. మొదటి దశలో మెరిట్‌ ఆధారంగా అభ్యర్థులను షార్ట్‌లిస్ట్‌ చేస్తారు. రెండో దశలో వీరికి సర్వీస్‌ సెలెక్షన్‌ బోర్డు(ఎస్‌ఎ్‌సబి) ఇంటర్వ్యూ ఉంటుంది. అలహాబాద్‌(ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్‌), భోపాల్‌ (మధ్యప్రదేశ్‌), బెంగళూరు(కర్ణాటక), కపుర్తలా (పంజాబ్‌)లలో ఎస్‌ఎ్‌సబి ఇంటర్వ్యూను నిర్వహిస్తారు. అయితే ఏ ఎస్‌ఎ్‌సబి కేంద్రంలో ఇంటర్వ్యూకు హాజరు కావాలనే సమాచారాన్ని అభ్యర్థులకు ఈ-మెయిల్‌ ద్వారా తెలియజేస్తారు. దీని ఆధారంగా అభ్యర్థులు తమకు అనువైన తేదీలను వెబ్‌సైట్‌ ద్వారా ఎంచుకోవాలి.
ఎస్‌ఎస్‌బి ఐదు రోజులు కొనసాగుతుంది. స్టేజ్‌-1 లో అర్హత సాధిస్తేనే స్టేజ్‌-2కు అనుమతిస్తారు. మొదటి రోజు డాక్యుమెంటేషన్‌ చెక్‌, కొన్ని దరఖాస్తులను పూరించడం వంటివి ఉంటాయి. స్టేజ్‌ - 1లో స్ర్కీనింగ్‌ టెస్ట్‌ ఉంటుంది. ఇందులో ఆఫీసర్స్‌ ఇంటెలిజెన్స్‌ టెస్ట్ట్‌, పిక్చర్‌ పర్సెప్షన్‌ అండ్‌ డిస్ర్కిప్టివ్‌ టెస్ట్‌లను నిర్వహిస్తారు. విశ్లేషణ సామర్థ్యం, మానసిక శక్తిని తెలుసుకోవడమే ఈ పరీక్షల ఉద్దేశం. స్టేజ్‌ - 2లో నాలుగు రోజుల షెడ్యూల్‌ ఉంటుంది. ఇందులో సైకలాజికల్‌ టెస్ట్‌లు, గ్రూప్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌ టాస్క్‌లు, ఇంటర్వ్యూ, కాన్ఫరెన్స్‌ వంటివి ఉంటాయి. చివరగా ఇంటర్వ్యూ ఉంటుంది.
కెరీర్‌
ఎంపికైన అభ్యర్థులకు ఇండియన్‌ మిలిటరీ అకాడమీ (ఐఎంఏ)-డెహ్రాడూన్‌లో శిక్షణనిస్తారు. ఈ శిక్షణ ఏడాదిపాటు ఉంటుంది. ఈ సమయంలో వీరికి లెఫ్టినెంట్‌ ర్యాంక్‌లో షార్ట్‌ సర్వీస్‌ కమిషన్డ్‌ హోదా ఇస్తారు. శిక్షణను పూర్తి చేసుకున్న వారికి పర్మినెంట్‌ కమిషన్‌ హోదాలో లెఫ్టినెంట్‌ ర్యాంక్‌తో కెరీర్‌ ప్రారంభమవుతుంది. చక్కటి ప్రతిభ ఉంటే ఆర్మీలో అత్యున్నతమైన చీఫ్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఆర్మీ స్టాఫ్‌ (సీఓఎఎస్‌) వంటి హోదాకు చేరుకోవచ్చు.

Educational Qualification
Candidates who have passed the requisite
Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of Engineering Degree course are eligible
to apply. Candidates studying in the final year of Engg degree course should be able to
submit proof of passing Engg Degree Examination alongwith marksheets of all
semesters/years by 01 Oct 2021 and produce the Engg Degree Certificate within 12 weeks
from the date of commencement of training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai,
Tamil Nadu. Such candidates will be inducted on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of
the cost of training at Officers Training Academy (OTA) as notified from time to time as
well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree
certificate.

(i) For SSC(Tech)- 57 Men and SSCW(Tech)- 28 Women. 20 to 27 years as
on 01 Oct 2021 (Candidates born between 02 Oct 94 and 01 Oct 2001, both days
inclusive).
(ii) For widows of Defence Personnel who Died in Harness Only.
SSCW (Non Tech) [Non UPSC] and SSCW(Tech) - A maximum of 35 years of age
as on 01 Oct 2021.

The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of the Interview & Medical Examination.Following documents are to be carried to the Selection Centre by the
candidate:-
- One copy of the Print out of application duly signed and affixed with self attested photograph.
- Self attested copy of Matriculation/Secondary School Examination certificate or equivalent certificate issued by the concerned Board of education in which date of birth is reflected for proof of date of birth (Admit card/Marksheet/Transfer/Leaving Certificate etc are NOT acceptable for proof of date of birth).
- Self attested copy of 12th Class Marksheet and Certificate or Equivalent certificate.
- Self attested copy of Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree issued by the university.
- Self attested copy of Mark sheets of all Semesters. (Revised mark sheets issued by a Board/University after submission of online application by the candidate will not be accepted for shortlisting for this course).
- Certificate issued by the Controller of Examination/Registrar of the concerned University regarding formula for conversion of CGPA/ Grades into marks followed by the University.
- A certificate issued by the controller of Exam/Registrar/Dean of the concerned university or Principal of the college regarding cumulative percentage of marks upto 6th semester for Engg Degree course/ 2nd semester for M Sc. Computer science/ 8th semester for Architecture which is applicable to the candidate.
- Certificate from the Principal/ Head of the Institution stating that the candidate is in final year and his/ her result will be declared by 1st of the month of commencement of course (for final year appearing candidates).
- Declaration by the candidate of final year Engineering degree course that he/she will submit the proof of passing by 1st of the month of commencement of course to Dte Gen of Rtg, failing which his/her candidature will be cancelled.
