Pledge for "Nava Nirmana Deeksha" On 2/6/2016|Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to observe Navanirmana Week to commemorate the state's new formation day, from June 2 June to June 8, 2016. The programme of the Navanirmana Week will be launched by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu with the pledge at 11.00 am at Vijayawada.
The Andhra Pradesh government today notified that every citizen of the state should participate in Navanirmana Deeksha (pledge) - wherever he or she is- whether they are on the road, home, college and factory or in a farm on June 2, the state formation day.
Andhra Pradesh in its present form came into existence on June 2, 2014 following the bifurcation of erstwhile AP. The pledge-taking ritual will be observed every year from this year onwards. The people have been asked suspend their activities during the time notified for the pledge at 11 am.
Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will administer the pledge at Vijayawada, the temporary capital of Andhra Pradesh, to a huge gathering.
“Throughout the State, everything will come to a standstill at that time and people -- wherever they are -- shall stop whatever they are doing and take the pledge.
“People should take the pledge themselves by reading the text of the pledge distributed in advance. Even in the residential houses, the head of the families should take the initiative to administer the pledge to the entire family members present,” said Lingaraju Panigrahi, special chief secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
